In his address, Sun Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, highlighted the achievements of the Su Bingtian Speed Research and Training Center and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Speed Ability Research since their establishment. These include nurturing a new generation of athletes such as Yan Haibin and Chen Guanfeng. He emphasized that the University will draw on its multidisciplinary strengths, increase investment in research, and form cross-disciplinary teams to advance sports training through science, thereby contributing to the national goal of building a leading sporting nation.
Cai Yong, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Chinese Athletics Association, remarked that the Center reflects Guangdong’s commitment to innovation and science-driven progress in athletics and aligns with the development strategy of Chinese track and field. Naming the center after Su Bingtian not only honors his dedication and spirit but also aims to systematize his successful experience into a replicable training model.
Zhu Hongwei, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau, congratulated the University on the launch of the base and expressed his hope that Jinan University would continue to integrate technology into sports to support the development of athletic excellence in the province and the nation.
