On the morning of November 26, a delegation from North Sichuan Medical College (NSMC), led by its President Dai Rongyang, visited Jinan University (JNU). The two institutions held a symposium at JNU's Shipai Campus to discuss deepening their collaboration in medical graduate education. The meeting was attended by JNU President Xing Feng, who is also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Vice President Hong An, who concurrently serves as the Director of the JNU Medical Department.
Vice President Hong An extended a warm welcome to the delegation and acknowledged the longstanding positive cooperation between the two universities. During the symposium, NSMC delivered a thematic report on the Joint Doctoral Training Base established by both institutions. The report highlighted that since its launch, the base has yielded significant achievements, including the publication of high-level research papers and successful applications for national and provincial-level research projects, thereby effectively supporting talent development and disciplinary advancement at NSMC. Building on this solid foundation, NSMC expressed its desire to renew the cooperation agreement and further expand the partnership. It also formally presented its intention to nominate one of its affiliated hospitals as a JNU Medical Education Base.
In the exchange session, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the cultivation of medical graduate students, quality assurance systems, and the enhancement of academic standards. JNU representatives shared their experience and practices in these areas.
President Xing Feng affirmed the positive outcomes of the existing collaboration and expressed his hope that both sides would build further consensus to elevate the partnership to new heights.
Both parties agreed that this meeting served to consolidate the achievements made thus far and charted a clear course for the next phase of collaboration, focusing on enhancing the quality of joint training and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
