The 51st Track and Field Meet of Jinan University was successfully held recently at the Xuri Sports Field on the Shipai Campus. The event featured diverse competitions for both student and faculty groups, with enthusiastic participation from the university community.

The opening ceremony took place on the afternoon of November 20. Attendees included university leaders Sun Yu, Xing Feng, Xia Quan, Zhang Hong, Chen Ying, Gu Naihua, along with heads of various departments, schools, and institutes. The ceremony was presided over by Chen Ying, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jinan University Committee.

CPC Jinan University Committee Secretary Sun Yu declared the meet open. In his address, President Xing Feng encouraged all participants to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, strive for excellence, and showcase the vibrant energy of the university. Athlete and referee representatives took oaths, pledging to adhere to sports ethics and ensure fair and orderly competitions. The parade of schools and departments displayed creativity and high spirits, reflecting the dynamism of Jinan University's staff and students.

The student competitions included 16 track and field events, 7 physical fitness tests, and 1 orienteering event. The faculty program consisted of 6 mixed-team events. Athletes demonstrated remarkable skill and determination on the field, while volunteers and support staff worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the meet.

Over the course of two and a half days, competitors set new university records in five events: the women’s 4×100m relay, men's 200m, men's long jump, men's 800m, and men's triple jump.

At the closing ceremony, Deputy Secretary Chen Ying presented awards to the top eight faculty teams in the overall standings. The top honor in the faculty group went to the First Administrative Division Team. In the student category, the Shenzhen Campus and the School of Physical Education tied for first place in the men's group overall standings, while the joint team of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the School of Stomatology, and the School of Nursing tied with the School of Physical Education for first place in the women's group.

Following the closing ceremony, staff and students joined a campus-wide "Sunshine Healthy Run."
