A Jinan University delegation led by Xia Quan, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, visited Thailand and Cambodia from September 22 to 26 to strengthen educational collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative. The delegation engaged with universities, overseas institutions, Chinese community organizations, and Chinese schools in both countries to explore new pathways for educational cooperation and talent development, and to promote high-quality educational partnerships with Belt and Road partner countries.

During its stay in Thailand, the delegation visited Thammasat University and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. At Thammasat University, the two sides discussed collaboration in disciplines such as economics, management, Chinese language, and medicine, with plans to advance credit recognition and dual-degree programs. At Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, the delegations explored cooperation in accounting, human resources, and business management, agreeing to jointly apply for Silk Road Scholarships and expand practical collaboration starting with student exchange programs.

The delegation also met with overseas Chinese organizations, including the Thai Chinese Teachers Association and the Cambodia Chinese Association. Xia Quan highlighted Jinan University's educational mission of "serving overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan communities" and expressed the university's commitment to strengthening cooperation with overseas Chinese communities in localizing Chinese teaching materials and promoting cultural heritage. In addition, the delegation held in-depth discussions with representatives from several Chinese schools, such as Urang Qihua School and Duanhua Branch School, on topics including Chinese language education development, school infrastructure, and student advancement, offering recommendations to support the sustainable development of local Chinese schools based on Jinan University's expertise in Chinese language education.

During the visit, the delegation met with alumni in Thailand and Cambodia, sharing updates on the university's latest developments and discussing alumni association building. The delegation acknowledged alumni for their longstanding support and encouraged their continued contributions to cultural and educational exchanges between China and other countries. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, where Xia Quan reported on the university's achievements and future plans for collaboration in Cambodia. Zhao Haiyan, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy, praised Jinan University's educational impact in Cambodia and expressed hope for the university's continued support in Chinese language education and overseas Chinese affairs.
