Five students from the College of Information Science and Technology at Jinan University participated in International Exchange Competition for the Newly Proposed Software Testing at the 48th WorldSkills Competition Event, held today in Guangzhou. The competition brought together participants from 10 countries and regions, including Hungary and Singapore, to demonstrate practical expertise in software quality assurance.

Known as the WorldSkills Olympics, the WorldSkills Competition designs its categories to reflect global industry trends. The newly introduced software testing event aims to foster international collaboration and technological advancement in the field, with strong support from WorldSkills International and relevant authorities.
The contest featured three core modules: Interface Testing (Module A), Performance Testing (Module B), and Functional Testing (Module C), incorporating both manual and automated testing methods. Participants were required to independently complete tasks—from test design and execution to analysis and reporting—simulating real-world workflows. Under strict time constraints, the competition evaluated comprehensive abilities in problem-solving, tool application, and standardized delivery of testing outcomes.
The Jinan University delegation included Xie Guonan (Curacao), Liu Jiabo (Suriname), Dai Hao (Italy), Chen Yulong (Madagascar), and Li Gangbaolede (Mongolia). Selected through multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation, the students demonstrated solid programming skills and proficiency with mainstream testing tools. Their participation not only honed individual capabilities but also highlighted the university’s commitment to providing international practical opportunities for its overseas students.
The College of Information Science and Technology reaffirmed its dedication to integrating industry, academia, and research. Moving forward, the college plans to invite more industry experts, enhance specialized training, and strengthen infrastructure, further supporting the development of IT talent—particularly in nurturing the unique strengths of its overseas student community.
