On the morning of June 25, a delegation led by Qu Xinxing, Deputy Director of the Patent Examination Cooperation Patent Examination Cooperation Guangdong Center of Patent Office, CNIPA, visited Jinan University for a symposium focusing on intellectual property talent cultivation, rural revitalization, and intellectual property services. The meeting was chaired by Huang Jianxin, Party Secretary of the Law School and Intellectual Property School at Jinan University. Gu Naihua, Member of the University Party Standing Committee and Vice President, along with Zhong Chunsheng, Director of the Rural Revitalization Leading Group Office, attended on behalf of the university.

Gu Naihua extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of Jinan University, highlighting its distinctive characteristics as an institution serving overseas Chinese communities and the progress in its legal discipline development. He emphasized the university's active role in establishing the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Talent Base and its integration into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Aligned with Guangdong Province's goal of building a leading intellectual property powerhouse, the university is committed to supporting industrial innovation and urban transformation through intellectual initiatives. Gu expressed hope that the exchange would pave the way for collaborative pathways in the field of intellectual property, contributing to the national strategy of strengthening intellectual property development.
Qu Xinxing introduced the Guangdong Center as the first CNIPA examination cooperation center established outside Beijing, outlining its development history, business scope, and key achievements. He noted that the center has maintained long-term cooperation with judicial authorities across regions and expressed that this visit aimed to jointly explore avenues in rural revitalization and intellectual property services, leveraging intellectual property as a catalyst for high-quality regional economic growth. Qu further looked forward to enhanced collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as talent development, academic discipline enhancement, and research optimization.
During the open discussion session, the two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including intellectual property talent development and service models, reaching consensus on practical collaborations such as two-way talent exchange, joint postdoctoral training, and resource sharing. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to advancing the integration of intellectual property theory and practice, with the goal of cultivating more professionals equipped to meet evolving societal needs.
Attendees of the meeting also included Liang Zhenfang, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Center's General Office; Zhou Zhengyi, Director of the Service Planning Office; Li Chong, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department's Talent Office; as well as Wu Xinwang, Associate Dean of the Law School and Intellectual Property School at Jinan University, and Xu Xuan, Second-Level Professor.
