At the Shipai Campus, Jinan University launched the summer social practice program Three Visits to the Countryside for 2025 and the expedition ceremony for the Millions of High-quality Development Projects commando, marking a bold step in the university’s rural revitalization effort. About 100 school-level teams, nearly 2,000 teachers and students, and roughly 20 AI-enhanced assault teams prepared to deploy to rural areas with enthusiasm and purpose. Attendees included a large cohort from the school’s Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin, leaders from relevant units, and student representatives participating in the summer practice.

Mobilization address
•Zhang Xiaoxin delivered the mobilization speech, highlighting the university’s track record of leveraging faculty and student strengths to undertake grassroots practicums. He urged participants to elevate their political stance, treat practice as a core component of the broader ideological and political education, and translate field observations into tangible social progress.
•He stressed transforming research findings into real-world solutions, converting inquiry into action, and ensuring that social observation, investigation, and reflection translate into practical strengths for national development. He also called for rigorous safety measures to protect students, ensuring safe, orderly practice activities that reflect well on Jinan University and contribute to Guangdong’s high-quality development and the nation’s rejuvenation.
Ceremony details
•During the expedition ceremony, banners representing the social practice teams were handed to the respective representatives, symbolizing responsibility and commitment. Team members pledged their dedication in a formal oath ceremony in the presence of university leaders and supervising mentors.
•Members of the “Millions of High-quality Development Projects” commando shared early outcomes from their fieldwork, illustrating the program’s impact and potential.
Post-ceremony training
•Following the ceremony, invited officials from the Publicity Department of the JNU Party Committee, the Economic and Social Research Institute, and the University's Youth League Committee conducted trainings. Topics covered included social practice publicity, research skills, safety education for fieldwork, and discipline-related guidance to support teams as they embark on their assignments.
