On the morning of March 14, 2025, a delegation from the College of International Languages and Cultures of Hohai University, led by Dean Zhang Hairong and Secretary of the Party Committee Duan Xuejun, visited the College of Foreign Studies of Jinan University, for research and exchange activities. The symposium featured key participants including Dean Pu Ruoxian from the College of Foreign Studies at Jinan University, Chen Wenju, Secretary of the Party Committee, and heads of relevant departments.

Presentations and Discussions
During the meeting, Dean Pu Ruoxian provided an overview of Jinan University and its College of Foreign Studies, highlighting significant areas such as professional development, faculty strength, teaching reforms, and research advancements. She emphasized the school’s active engagement in faculty team development, initiatives in international education, and innovative models for cultivating talent.
In response, Dean Zhang Hairong detailed the progress of Hohai University’s College of Foreign Studies, focusing on professional growth, teaching effectiveness, and student cultivation. He elaborated on the school’s accomplishments in establishing MTI internship bases, conducting teaching competitions, and enhancing student enrollment and employment prospects. He reiterated that the College of Foreign Studies at Hohai University remains committed to the mission of “learning world languages and promoting advanced culture,” and has developed a long-term talent cultivation mechanism tailored to its distinctive characteristics.
Collaborative Exploration
The two sides engaged in rich discussions on critical topics, including the development of French majors, teacher development initiatives, reforms in university English teaching, the integration of ideological and political elements into curricula, and branding of party-building efforts. They also examined strategies for improving student internship practices, sharing insights and best practices from their respective institutions.

The exchange facilitated a vital platform for communication and mutual understanding between the two schools. Both representatives expressed enthusiasm about utilizing this opportunity to enhance cooperation further. They aim to jointly advance the high-quality development of their foreign language programs and contribute to the cultivation of exceptional foreign language professionals.
