On the afternoon of March 18, 2025, representatives from the College of Foreign Studies, the Youth League Committee, and the Student Employment Guidance Center of Jinan University conducted a research and exchange visit to the Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Center (referred to as “City Youth Entrepreneurship”). This initiative focused on key topics such as student employment, career planning, internship base construction, and innovation in entrepreneurship.

Overview of the Visit
Under the leadership of Yuan Weigen, Secretary of the Municipal Youth Entrepreneurship Party Branch and Director of the Center, the group toured various functional spaces within the service center, including the exhibition hall, enterprise incubation area, multifunctional room, and office spaces. This visit provided insights into the extensive services offered, from entrepreneurship training to project incubation, and highlighted important support policies available to young entrepreneurs.
Key Discussions
Following the tour, attendees engaged in discussions regarding employment services tailored for college students, strategies to enhance their employability, and collaborative efforts to build various support platforms. Yuan Weigen highlighted several initiatives designed to promote high-quality employment for young people, which include the:
•“Three Promotions”:
1.Promoting employment services to wider demographics.
2.Innovating service models.
3.Encouraging young people to settle in the region.
•“Three Constructions”:
1.Creating platforms for entrepreneurship and innovation competitions.
2.Integrating school and city services.
3.Incubating award-winning projects from national entrepreneurship competitions.
He proposed joint initiatives with Jinan University, such as organizing job fairs, improving employment counseling and career planning courses, and supporting the cultivation of young enterprises in the Greater Bay Area.

Perspectives from Jinan University
Chen Wenju, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chinese Language and Culture at Jinan University, shared insights on the historical evolution of the school's academic programs, the focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, and the status of the 2025 graduating class. He stressed the necessity of expanding channels for student internships and employment opportunities, aiming to enhance graduates' employability and facilitate successful transitions into the workforce.
Lin Guokang, Deputy Director of the Municipal Youth Innovation Center, along with Zheng Xiantong, Minister of the Employment Service Department, elaborated on the differentiated services offered by the center, which focus on youth talent recruitment and employment guidance. Their goal is to act as a bridge to facilitate “two-way rush” engagement between enterprises and students, ensuring better job matching and opportunities.
Zhang Gaoxiang, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, discussed the measures taken to assist students in entrepreneurship and employment. He highlighted initiatives aimed at helping students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities integrate into the Greater Bay Area's development, emphasizing a proactive approach to career education.
Future Cooperation
Cao Lingsha from the Student Employment Guidance Center detailed the career planning and guidance services available for the upcoming 2025 graduates. She expressed hopes for collaboration with local youth and talent service agencies to create internship bases, introduce off-campus mentor resources, and optimize the employment education landscape.
The visit fostered meaningful discussions that resulted in consensus on various collaborative efforts between Jinan University and the city's youth entrepreneurship agencies. This exchange lays a solid foundation for future partnerships aimed at enhancing student employability and entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to the economic vitality of the Greater Bay Area. The shared commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators is pivotal for both educational institutions and local enterprises alike.
