On March 21, 2025, Jinan University hosted the 6th Fanghua Medical Forum alongside the Guangdong Province Postdoctoral Academic Exchange Conference focused on “Medicine and Health.” The event took place in Conference Hall 101 of the Huiquan Building, drawing significant participation from over 300 faculty, graduate students, and industry experts. The theme of the forum, “Exploring the Sea of Wisdom, Youth Never Aging,” aimed to foster innovative development in neuroscience and aging research, elevate the quality of postdoctoral training in Guangdong, and encourage the deep integration of academia, industry, and research.

Overview of the Conference
The forum was chaired by Academician Su Guohui, an esteemed member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and head of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Central Nerve Regeneration Institute at Jinan University. Co-hosted by the School of Medicine and the Postdoctoral Management Office of Jinan University, the event featured opening speeches by Hong An, Vice President of Jinan University, and Cheng Zhipeng from the Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology.

In her speech, Hong An highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of biotechnology in fostering new productivity within the biopharmaceutical and health sectors. She emphasized Jinan University's commitment to transforming scientific discoveries into practical applications to support the Greater Bay Area's goals of becoming a global leader in scientific innovation.
Keynote Presentations and Discussions
The academic agenda was rich with presentations. Notable speakers included:

These experts delivered keynote reports on cutting-edge topics such as peripheral nerve injury repair, neuro-imaging in mental disorders, and interventions for Parkinson's disease, providing valuable insights into advancements in both brain science and aging research.
Young Scholars and Innovation
A highlight of the conference was the inclusion of a special section for postdoctoral and young scholars aimed at showcasing innovative research. Seven postdoctoral fellows from various institutions presented their findings, encouraging collaboration and idea-sharing. The event also featured graduate student presentations and poster sessions, fostering a platform for emerging researchers to exhibit their work and gain recognition.
After a thorough evaluation process, ten graduate students were awarded honorary certificates for their exceptional presentations, further stimulating enthusiasm for research within the academic community.
The 6th Fanghua Medical Forum and Guangdong Province Postdoctoral Academic Exchange Conference not only successfully gathered leading experts to discuss the future of neuroscience and aging research but also provided a vibrant platform for young scholars to contribute to the discourse. By promoting collaborative efforts between academia and industry, the forum is positioned to drive innovation and tackle the challenges associated with an aging population, thereby enriching the collective knowledge and response to health issues in society.
