On March 7, 2025, Jinan University convened a regular meeting focused on undergraduate teaching for the spring semester, chaired by Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin. The meeting was attended by teaching leaders from each campus and college, the director of the Education and Science Office, and relevant personnel from the undergraduate college.

During the meeting, Liu Tao, Executive Dean and Director of the Academic Affairs Office, outlined the key objectives for the semester. He highlighted eleven focal areas including preparation for review and evaluation, major transfers, graduation reviews, recommendation processes, discipline construction, curriculum and textbook development, quality engineering projects, applications for teaching achievement awards, leveraging artificial intelligence in teaching, optimizing teaching arrangements, and strengthening practical teaching components. Liu emphasized the critical nature of audit and evaluation work, urging all colleges to actively engage in the preparation for evaluations.
He Qingwen, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School and Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship, reported significant progress in innovation and entrepreneurship education over the past year. He announced plans to enhance students' awareness and skills in this area through general courses, entrepreneurship lectures, and innovation competitions. The school will also intensify training for innovation and entrepreneurship educators and promote closer integration of these educational elements with professional training, to ensure students have access to high-quality resources and practical platforms.
Zhu Zimu, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate School and Director of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, addressed the quality of enrollments from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as the expansion of overseas Chinese and international student admissions. He emphasized the need for an effective promotion strategy that showcases the school’s unique programs and talent development through a comprehensive online and offline media approach. Zhu encouraged each college to participate actively in enrollment promotion efforts by providing high-quality promotional materials to bolster the school’s competitive edge in admissions.
Zhang Mo, Vice Dean of the Undergraduate College and Director of the Teacher Development Center, focused on the upcoming 5th National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition. He announced a collaborative support mechanism for participating teachers and highlighted ongoing training sessions aimed at enhancing teachers’ digital literacy. This initiative is designed to facilitate the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching methodologies, thereby improving overall teaching quality.
In her concluding remarks, Vice President Zhang Xiaoxin stressed that the core objective of the undergraduate teaching work for the semester is to prepare for a new round of undergraduate education and teaching review and evaluation. She urged each college to leverage this opportunity to promote construction and improvement through evaluation, thereby enhancing the teaching quality and talent cultivation standards at the university. Zhang called for a collaborative approach across the institution, ensuring all components from professional optimization to quality engineering project development are coordinated under the main theme of review and evaluation.
She encouraged colleges to adopt a proactive mindset, engaging in self-examination, expert evaluations, and student discussions to identify and address gaps. Expectations were set for improvements in areas such as professional adjustments, enrollment quality, international education, innovation and entrepreneurship, and faculty development.

The meeting established a clear framework and key tasks for the effective implementation of undergraduate teaching in the spring semester of 2025, setting the stage for Jinan University to elevate its undergraduate teaching quality and talent development initiatives.
