In line with Guangdong Province's objectives for the Millions of High-quality Development Projects initiative, Jinan University’s Zhuhai Campus engaged in a productive symposium with local leaders from Nanping Town on the morning of March 7. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the university and local communities to ensure the effective implementation of development projects outlined in the Work Plan for Zhuhai University District Town Support.

The delegation, led by Lu Jianmin, Party Secretary of the Zhuhai Campus, was warmly welcomed by leaders from Nanping Town and representatives from the Nanping Science and Technology Industrial Park. Lu highlighted a range of successful collaborative efforts that have taken place between the campus and Nanping, including grassroots governance, volunteer services, historical building preservation, and initiatives to enhance local cultural branding and industrial growth.

Drawing from these experiences and recognizing the unique needs of Nanping Town, Lu proposed future directions centered on three key themes: collaboration on land use, innovation-driven strategies, and empowerment of the overseas Chinese community. He emphasized the campus's commitment to working hand-in-hand with the people of Nanping to foster high-quality development with a spirit of shared success and responsibility.

Xu Shijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanping Town, shared the town's strategic measures for advancing the Millions of High-quality Development Projects, focusing on industrial growth, rural revitalization, and improvements in residents' quality of life. He underscored Nanping's strategic position near the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge as a vital asset in driving development projects, including the Nanping Science and Technology Industrial Park, aimed at becoming a provincial model of integrated urban development.

During the discussion, both parties reviewed past collaboration successes and explored future cooperation plans. Representatives from Nanping Town and local enterprises offered suggestions on how to enhance industry-academia-research partnerships, improve technician training within companies, promote the achievements of the development projects, and increase student involvement in local governance.

The Zhuhai campus aims to leverage this dialogue as a springboard for deeper collaboration with Nanping Town, exploring educational resource sharing, technological innovation, cultural preservation, and community service initiatives. By implementing strategic and effective cooperation measures, both parties strive to accelerate the progress of the Millions of High-quality Development Projects and enhance the coordinated development of educational institutions and local communities.
