Jinan University convened a New Year tea party on January 22nd, 2025, at the Shipai campus, bringing together current leadership with thirteen former university leaders. The gathering served as a forum for strategic discussion, with university leaders soliciting insights and guidance from their predecessors on the institution's future development.

President Xing Feng, along with Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee Sun Yu and Chen Ying, welcomed esteemed alumni, including Zhang Dechang, Wu Guoji, and others. Xing Feng expressed gratitude for their enduring support and guidance, highlighting that the university's current successes are built upon their past contributions. He also provided an overview of the university's achievements over the past year.

During the symposium, former leaders commended the university's progress and offered valuable suggestions on various key areas, including ideological and political education, nurturing young faculty, attracting top-tier talent, and overall strategic direction. Key themes included the integration of educational technology and leveraging national opportunities to further Jinan University's Double First Class initiative.
