On December 12, 2024, Jinan University hosted the finals of the Yihai Kerry Cup Innovation Competition at the Shipai Campus, organized by the Academic Affairs Office of the Undergraduate School in collaboration with the Arawana Charity Foundation. After a competitive selection process, 10 innovative teams showcased their projects, addressing diverse themes such as traditional humanities, modern healthcare, rural revitalization, and technology for public welfare.

Notable Projects
1. Yi Nong: A One-Stop Service for New Rural Farmers
This project addresses key challenges in rural areas, such as the lack of professional talent and planning difficulties. The Yi Nong team proposed a comprehensive service model to enhance the skills of rural youth and empower new farmers. The project ultimately won a first prize, with the team planning to expand their services through a social welfare organization.

2. Sound over the Five Lakes, Sing Praises to Batang: A Cultural Poverty Alleviation Model
The Xibo Mama project promotes local female entrepreneurship in Batang County, Sichuan, through the marketing of traditional products. By leveraging modern media, the team aims to revitalize cultural industries, earning them a first prize.

3. Sticky Beauty: Innovative Scar Treatment
This project focuses on a painless microneedle system for scar treatment, demonstrating superior efficacy compared to traditional methods. The team, led by Li Shuling, received a second prize for their innovative approach.

4. From 0 to 1: Artificial Propagation of Wild Red Mushrooms
This project aims to cultivate rare edible mushrooms using bioinformatics. The team successfully demonstrated the feasibility of their methods, earning a second prize.

5. Global Leader in Mass Spectrometry Detection for Alzheimer's Disease
This project developed an early screening kit for Alzheimer's, achieving over 3000 successful tests. The team, led by Gao Yiyang, was awarded a second prize for their contributions to early detection and treatment.

Competition Legacy
Since its inception in April 2013, the Yihai Kerry Cup has completed 20 seasons, hosting 92 sessions and involving over 650 projects and 15,000 participants. This competition serves as a vital platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas, bridging the gap between academia and real-world applications. It has significantly contributed to rural revitalization, science, education, and healthcare, reflecting the university's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
