In his keynote speech, Liu Tao emphasized the value of teaching competitions in perpetuating the university's traditions and enhancing the teaching skills of its faculty. He highlighted that such competitions serve as both a platform for showcasing teachers' educational philosophies, knowledge, and classroom management skills, and as a reflective tool for improving teaching practices. Liu encouraged participants to view the competition as an opportunity for professional growth, aiming for excellence in educational strategies and gender parity.

Since its launch on September 27, 2024, the competition has seen active participation from various colleges, with nearly 300 new teachers signing up for preliminary rounds. Ultimately, 35 contestants from the humanities and social sciences group and 27 from the natural sciences group advanced to the finals.

During the finals, teachers delivered classroom demonstrations that adhered to the university's high standards of advanced, innovative, and challenging course design. Participants integrated modern teaching concepts and diverse methodologies into their presentations, showcasing solid teaching skills and high levels of enthusiasm. Judges noted that the competition provided a valuable platform for demonstrating teachers' development and innovations in their teaching practices.

Established in 2013, the biennial New Teacher Teaching Competition has become a cherished tradition at Jinan University, contributing to the ongoing educational reforms and supporting the professional development of young educators. Over its eight sessions, the competition has fostered a new generation of educators, helping them rise as key contributors to the university's commitment to moral education and talent cultivation.
