On November 23rd, JNU proudly received the Best Organization Award at the 36th Han Suyin International Translation Contest Awards Ceremony and Translation Promotion of Human Civilization Exchange Symposium. This recognition places us among the 22 universities that excelled in this prestigious competition.

The competition was co-organized by the China Translation Association, the China Translation Research Institute, the Contemporary China and the World Research Institute, and Hunan Normal University. It received support from the Chinese Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education and was jointly promoted by China Translation Magazine and the College of Foreign Studies at Hunan Normal University.

Jinan University was represented by seven contestants—Li Yongxin, Li Wenrui, Li Wenjing, Yang Su, Zhou Yun, He Chengqian, and Jiang Xingyu—who each earned the Excellence Award in both the English to Chinese and Chinese to English categories.

Founded in 1989, the Han Suyin International Translation Contest is recognized as the longest-running and most influential translation competition in China. It holds a prominent position in the translation industry, attracting young translation enthusiasts from both domestic and international backgrounds.

This year's competition featured two-way translation between Chinese and ten languages—English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Italian—resulting in a total of 20 contest categories. The event received an impressive 30,864 translated entries, and after a rigorous evaluation process, 1,230 winners were announced, including 21 first prize winners, 55 second prize winners, 88 third prize winners, and 1,066 excellence awards.

Jinan University is dedicated to the principle of promoting learning and teaching through competitions, emphasizing the development of students' foreign language application skills. Over the years, we have continually achieved success in various foreign language and translation competitions, reinforcing our commitment to educational excellence.
