The five-day training featured a variety of learning formats, including special lectures, educational drama experiences, psychological group counseling, field visits, and group discussions. Six experts from institutions such as Jinan University, Guangzhou's Tianhe District Party School, and the Guangzhou Education Research Institute provided instruction on moral and psychological education, as well as strategies for fostering students' mental health.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit Jinan University's mental health education center, affiliated middle and primary schools, and several children's schools in Guangzhou and Foshan for hands-on learning and group counseling experiences.
On December 6th, during the graduation ceremony, participants were divided into 12 groups to discuss and report on five key topics related to effective moral and psychological education for primary and secondary school students. Representatives Liu Shunmei, Chen Jierou, and He Huarang shared their insights and reflections from the training, highlighting how the course provided them with accessible concepts and methods in mental health education that broadened their perspectives and resonated with their experiences.
They expressed their commitment to applying the concepts learned during the training to their future work in moral and psychological education, aiming to promote mental health initiatives in their respective schools.
This training course is a significant step in implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's directives on student mental health, responding to the Central United Front Work Department's requirements for paired assistance, and supporting the Guangdong Province's Double Hundred Action. It enhances Jinan University's basic education assistance efforts while addressing the urgent needs of primary and secondary schools in the assistance areas.
