At the recently concluded 2024 Understanding China International Conference, the International School's short video Inheritance of Tea Veins, Fragrant Across the Sea received the third prize in the Cultural Inheritance and Civilization Dialogue theme of the New Youth Looking at China short video collection exhibition.

Overview of the Award-Winning Work
The award-winning video is a product of the National and Youth Rural Revitalization Practice Team from Jinan University, which participated in the Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project in Boluo County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. The team, composed of mainland students, overseas Chinese from countries like Bangladesh, the UAE, and Belize, and international students from Russia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and India, represents a rich diversity of backgrounds in cultural studies, economics, management, engineering, and medicine.
The project focuses on several key themes:
- Inheritance and dissemination of traditional Chinese culture
- Cultural exchange and mutual learning
- Support for local education and enterprise visits
- Revitalization of brand culture for agricultural products
Project Goals and Activities
The initiative aims to foster a diverse cultural landscape that supports rural revitalization from an international perspective. It features special topics such as Cultural Empowerment, Agricultural Bank of China Overseas, and Red Trace Casting Soul, creating a comprehensive platform for creativity, practice, and cultural dissemination.
The practice team centered its efforts on Boluo Cultural Agricultural Products: Stories Under the Camera, actively engaging in community activities that highlight the historical and cultural richness of Boluo. They explored the narratives of new-generation tea farmers and the cultural heritage of Boluo tea through visits to Lanzi Tea Garden and Baitang Tea Garden, resulting in a series of short videos titled Meeting Friends with Tea.
Communication and Cultural Exchange
The International Communication+ new media team at the International School utilized its multidisciplinary strengths to foster communication and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign cultures. This initiative showcases the dynamic spirit and creativity of young international students.
Commitment to Cultural Dissemination
The International School remains committed to General Secretary Xi Jinping's call to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture globally. Through storytelling and cultural exchange, the college aims to enhance understanding and appreciation of Chinese heritage while contributing to the revitalization of rural communities.
This recognition at the Understanding China International Conference underscores the college's dedication to cultural inheritance and its role in fostering international dialogue through innovative educational practices.
