The 4th Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Youth College Students' China National Conditions Research Competition recently concluded with an awards ceremony and exhibition of excellent works at Chuangxiang Bay in Nansha, Guangzhou. This event was organized by the Institute of Chinese National Cohesion at Jinan University, under the auspices of the Research Base for Strengthening the Awareness of the Chinese National Community.

Key Remarks and Awards
In his speech, Xia Quan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Research Base, emphasized that Jinan University serves as a prominent institution for students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities. He noted that the competition allowed students to appreciate the richness of Chinese culture and explore the promising trajectory of contemporary China’s development. Xia encouraged students to harness their experiences to identify future opportunities, cultivate patriotism, and engage in the nation’s rejuvenation.

Exhibition and Research Findings
The exhibition featured outstanding research reports presented by award-winning teams, highlighting their research purposes, methodologies, content, and conclusions. Participants gained valuable insights from grassroots research conducted across various regions, including Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Fujian, and Shanxi. Research themes included:
- The history and reality of communication and integration among Chinese ethnic groups
- Identity and national identity of youth in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan
- Collaborative innovation in cross-strait cultural industries
- Cultural resources of overseas Chinese and hometown development
These projects provided students with a deeper understanding of national and social conditions, identifying key issues and developing potential solutions. The competition aimed to enhance both the theoretical and practical skills of the participating students, reinforcing their historical and cultural awareness as well as their commitment to the Chinese national community.
Innovation and Collaboration
Nansha, recognized as a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Comprehensive Cooperation Demonstration Zone, hosted the event, providing an ideal backdrop for the exhibition. This area includes 13 entrepreneurial bases designed to support youth from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao with innovative services and cultural experiences.
Overall, the competition not only fostered academic exchange and collaboration among students but also aimed to inspire a sense of mission towards national rejuvenation, promoting the awareness of the Chinese nation as a unified community.
