Ranked first in both overall GPA and comprehensive testing, Ru Jiayi has led a national-level innovation project and published several SCI papers based on her research. Hailing from Anyang, Henan, Ru Jiayi's fascination with chemistry began in high school, where she was intrigued by chemical phenomena despite limited resources. Upon arriving at Jinan University in 2021, she immersed herself in the diverse experimental opportunities available in the laboratory, bridging the gap between textbook theories and practical applications.

Despite initial challenges in mastering laboratory techniques, Ru Jiayi's perseverance and the encouragement of her mentors allowed her to refine her skills. She embraced the complexities of scientific research, recognizing that failures are part of the learning process.

 Leading Innovative Research

As the lead on a national innovation project focused on wastewater treatment using copper phosphate phosphorus hybrid nanomaterials, Ru Jiayi applied her knowledge to tackle real-world environmental issues. This project involved synthesizing catalysts to degrade stubborn organic pollutants, showcasing her ability to connect chemistry with practical solutions.

Her determination paid off as she successfully completed the project, further solidifying her commitment to scientific research. Ru Jiayi believes that her journey has not only enhanced her experimental skills but also strengthened her resolve to contribute to the field of chemistry.
