On November 29, Jinan University commemorated its 118th founding anniversary and the 10th anniversary of its Panyu campus with an innovation and development conference held at the Huo Yingdong Sports Center. The event drew a diverse group of attendees, including senior officials from the Central Committee's United Front Work Department, local government representatives, university leaders, alumni, and students.

Keynote speakers included Yu Guochun, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese, and Huo Zhenhuan, Vice Chairman of the International Wushu Federation. They emphasized the importance of Jinan University in nurturing talent and contributing to national rejuvenation, particularly through its efforts to integrate overseas Chinese students into its educational framework.

Principal Xing Feng delivered a welcome address, highlighting the university's recent advancements in its Double First Class initiative aimed at enhancing educational quality and international collaboration. He noted that the Panyu campus has become a vital hub for academic growth, attracting students from around the globe and fostering significant research and innovation.
Professor Li Dan, representing the faculty, shared his personal journey at Jinan University, praising the Panyu campus for its conducive learning environment and comprehensive academic offerings. Alumni representative Chen Tong reflected on her experiences at the university, emphasizing its role in shaping her academic and personal growth.
During the conference, several individuals were recognized for their contributions to the Panyu campus's development, receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award and the Jinan University Panyu Campus Construction and Development Contribution Award.
Huo Zhenhuan, recalling the university's rich history, expressed his commitment to supporting its future growth, particularly as the second phase of the Panyu campus project is set to enhance its academic capabilities further.

The conference concluded with the launch of the New Era of Panyu Campus with New Chapters on Journey and Opening Up, symbolizing a renewed commitment to innovation and collaboration. Since its inception in 2014, the Panyu campus has grown significantly, now housing 15 colleges and over 19,000 students, with plans for further expansion expected to be completed by 2026.
