On November 12, 2024, the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office in collaboration with the School of Information Science and Technology at Jinan University held the 6th Zhihui Information Teaching Forum. The event took place in Conference Room 338 of the Nanhai Building on Shipai Campus, focusing on the theme Empowering Experimental Teaching with Digital Intelligence. This forum aimed to explore and share innovations in the application of digital intelligence technologies within experimental teaching.

The forum featured esteemed experts including Professor Xiong Hongqi, Secretary General of the Higher Education Experimental Teaching Guidance Committee from the Ministry of Education; Professor Wang Wenling from Beihang University; and Professor Zhou Meiping from Higher Education Press, attracting participation from instructors across various colleges.
Professor Zhao Shancheng, Vice Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, opened the forum with a warm welcome, outlining its purpose in the context of enhancing digital empowerment in teaching. Luo Guowei, Secretary of the Party Committee, discussed the college's initiatives and support for digital teaching advancements, expressing gratitude to the experts for their insights, which are vital for the college's disciplinary and course development.

The keynote speaker, Professor Xiong Hongqi, delivered a comprehensive analysis titled Empowering Experimental Teaching with Digital Intelligence. He criticized traditional experimental teaching models for their limitations in fostering innovative talent and proposed a shift towards digitally empowered teaching. Xiong highlighted new methodologies, such as integrating virtual and real environments, blended learning, and personalized instruction to enhance educational outcomes. He referenced the successful Computer TA model from Southeast University, showcasing its effectiveness in energizing both teaching and learning processes while advocating for broader support across policy and funding to promote data-driven experimental pedagogies.

Professor Wang Wenling followed with her lecture on Construction and Exploration of the Digital Teaching System for Basic Physics Experiments, detailing Beihang University's advancements in developing digital textbooks. She emphasized the significance of these resources in elevating educational quality and fostering students' engagement and self-directed learning through innovative classroom practices.

Teacher Zhou Meiping elaborated on the creation and implementation of digital textbooks in her presentation Exploration and Practice of Digital Textbooks in the Experimental Field. Using case studies, she illustrated the effectiveness of digital resources in enhancing teaching and learning experiences, reinforcing the importance of digital transformation in higher education.
The forum concluded with a lively discussion session, where attendees actively engaged in dialogues about practical challenges, technological hurdles, and emerging trends in digital education. The successful execution of this sixth Zhihui Information Teaching Forum not only facilitated teacher exchanges but also contributed to the ongoing development of digital teaching methodologies. The School of Information Science and Technology remains committed to pioneering educational technology and integrating artificial intelligence into teaching reforms, continuously striving to cultivate innovative talent for the future.
