Coaching Lecture Held for 11th Jinan University Undergraduate Course Teaching Competition and 5th National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition

On the afternoon of November 20, the Undergraduate Teacher Development Center organized a coaching lecture for the 11th Jinan University Undergraduate Course Teaching Competition and the 5th National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition Internal Selection Competition. The event took place in Room 1202 of the R&F Teaching Building at Shipai Campus and featured Professor Wan Chengsong from the Teaching Development Center of Southern Medical University, who hosted the 4th Guangdong Provincial College Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition. Zhang Mo, Director of the Undergraduate Teacher Development Center, presided over the meeting.

During the lecture, Professor Wan Chengsong shared valuable insights and strategies for teachers preparing for the competitions. He emphasized the importance of understanding the competition's purpose and criteria, as well as the spirit of the relevant documents. Wan highlighted that the Teaching Innovation Competition is designed to enhance the quality of higher education in China. He encouraged participating teachers to align their efforts with the Ministry of Education's Four New construction guidelines and the Curriculum Ideological and Political Construction Guidelines.

Professor Wan advised teachers to identify practical challenges in curriculum construction and classroom teaching, focusing on key issues that are significant to their disciplines. He stressed the need to summarize teaching innovation achievements by examining various dimensions, including teaching philosophy, methods, information technology integration, and teaching effectiveness.

The event received enthusiastic participation and support from various colleges and undergraduate teaching offices. Following the presentation, teachers engaged in discussions with Professor Wan on innovative teaching methods and strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness.


The internal selection competition for the 11th Jinan University Undergraduate Course Teaching Competition and the 5th National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition was launched in October. Prior to this lecture, the school had conducted two Innovation Competition Radiation Series workshops, featuring award-winning teachers from the 4th National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition who shared their experiences and best practices.

The goal of this lecture was to further assist faculty in understanding teaching innovation, clarifying competition rules, refining preparation strategies, and boosting their enthusiasm and confidence in teaching innovation. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and continuous improvement in educational practices.
