From November 1 to 3, the 8th IEEE International Conference on Energy Internet (IEEE ICEI 2024) took place at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Zhuhai, hosted by Jinan University. Co-sponsored by IEEE, Jinan University, and Beijing Jiaotong University, the conference was co-chaired by IEEE Fellow Professor Jing Han, Dean of the International Energy College at Jinan University, and Cai Xipeng, Dean of the Academy of Science of China Southern Power Grid. The event brought together renowned scholars and industry experts from around the globe to discuss innovative developments in the energy internet and to envision a green and intelligent future.

Themed Promoting Energy Internet Innovation and Building a Green and Intelligent Future, the conference focused on cutting-edge technologies in new energy systems and power systems. It featured eight themed venues covering various hot topics, along with an IEEE WIP Women Engineers Forum. Key figures included Vice President Li Yan of Southern Power Grid Science Research Institute, Deputy Chief Engineer Pu Tianjiao of China Electric Power Research Institute, and several professors from leading universities such as Xi'an Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University, who shared their latest research and engineering applications.

The opening ceremony on November 2 was jointly presided over by He Jinghan and Cai Xipeng. Liu Jizhen, honorary chairman of the conference and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), delivered the opening address, while Chen Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, welcomed attendees. Huang Wensheng, Deputy District Chief of Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, also spoke, expressing gratitude to all experts and guests for their participation and encouraging in-depth exchanges to advance the energy internet sector. Other attendees included Liu Zhimin, Chairman of the Zhuhai Association for Science and Technology, and various local leaders.

The conference featured keynote reports from nine distinguished experts, including CAE members and international academicians, who presented on various themes related to cutting-edge technologies and engineering practices in the energy field. The three-day event included nine keynote speeches, eight special sessions, and four parallel sub-sessions, along with 16 paper forums and poster discussions, facilitating the sharing of scientific and technological achievements.

Additionally, the conference recognized outstanding contributions through a Best Paper Award Ceremony, where certificates were presented to the authors of the ten best papers. Concurrently, exhibition activities showcased innovative achievements from companies such as Beijing Sifang Relay Protection, Nanrui Relay Protection, and Zhuhai Youte Electric Power Technology, with Youte Technology leveraging the Zhuhai Science and Technology Association Agreement to support the event's success.

Overall, IEEE ICEI 2024 provided a significant platform for collaboration and innovation in the energy internet sector, fostering connections among scholars, industry leaders, and practitioners committed to building a sustainable future.
