On November 5, Jinan University held a successful recruitment fair for Hong Kong students at the Panyu campus, aimed at enhancing employability and expanding job opportunities for youth from Hong Kong. This event, hosted by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association, marked the first in a series of campus recruitment fairs for 2024.

The launching ceremony was attended by notable figures including Zeng Shendian, Vice President of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association; Zhang Hong, Vice President of Jinan University and member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee; Fang Lei, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Education and Science Department of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong; He Bin, Director of the Personnel Department of the Guangzhou Federation; and Niu Hua, Director of the Information and Social Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprise Association. Leaders from the Panyu Campus Management Committee, relevant departments, and various colleges, along with representatives from participating enterprises, were also present.

In his welcoming remarks, Zhang Hong expressed gratitude to the Hong Kong China Enterprise Association and the participating employers, noting that over 40 companies were present to help Hong Kong students secure quality employment and foster long-term development. He emphasized the university's commitment to cultivating outstanding talent for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and reiterated the school’s dedication to promoting the academic achievements of Hong Kong students, enabling them to contribute to national development and the Greater Bay Area's integration.
Zeng Shendian introduced the Hong Kong China Enterprise Association and its Employment Internship Recruitment Program, highlighting the current opportunities for Hong Kong youth amidst the region's economic and developmental focus. He encouraged students to leverage the recruitment event to discover their career paths and realize their potential.
Huang Yun, Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department of China Resources Group, spoke on behalf of the companies, stating that the job fair serves as a vital platform for connecting Hong Kong Chinese enterprises with mainland students. She expressed hope that students would engage meaningfully during the recruitment activities.
The event featured participation from over 40 major Chinese enterprises, including China Resources Group, China Merchants Group, Bank of China Hong Kong, and China Travel Service Group, offering more than 200 high-quality positions across various fields such as finance, banking, insurance, human resources, construction, law, sales, and computer science. Job locations include cities in the Greater Bay Area like Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Nearly 500 Hong Kong graduates attended, creating a lively atmosphere and generating positive feedback.
This recruitment briefing not only opened numerous employment opportunities for Hong Kong students but also deepened their understanding of Chinese-funded enterprises and the Hong Kong job market. Moving forward, Jinan University plans to continue tailoring employment services for different graduate groups, organizing special job fairs and enterprise visits to further expand job opportunities and provide dedicated support for graduates' employment.
