Date: November 24, 2024

Jinan University welcomed a delegation from the Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Bureau on November 7th to promote the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan to its Hong Kong student community. The visit was the second time the program has been introduced at the university.

Leading the delegation was Ho Kai ming, Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare of Hong Kong. He was welcomed by Jinan University President Xing Feng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chen Ying, deputy secretary of the university's Communist Party committee.

In his meeting with the delegation, President Xing Feng highlighted Jinan University's role as the largest high-quality talent training base for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and overseas Chinese in China. He expressed the university's commitment to deepening cooperation with the Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Bureau to provide talent support for the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Chen Ying warmly welcomed the Hong Kong delegation, noting that the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Program offers abundant work and entrepreneurship opportunities for Hong Kong students in the regional hub. She encouraged Jinan students to actively seize these prospects and leverage their strengths. The university pledged to strengthen communication with Hong Kong's labour authorities to jointly create more avenues for Hong Kong youth.
