Professor Wang Tong, a researcher from the School of Life Science and Technology at Jinan University and a Guangdong Enterprise Special Envoy for Hailite Biotechnology, explained that this reagent has been recognized as a major national scientific advancement. It was also featured in the national scientific and technological innovation achievement exhibition, reflecting the importance of the research and development process. The domestic expert team in the field of AIDS played a crucial role in using these research outcomes to update two national guidelines on AIDS detection and treatment. In addition, over 100 real-world research papers have been published based on this work, establishing a comprehensive Chinese strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV centered around DNA load detection.
Professor Jutov, Chairman and Chief Scientist of Hailite Biotechnology, emphasized that the approval of the HIV-1 DNA load test kit represents a landmark success for the National Science and Technology Major Special Fund during the 13th Five Year Plan. He noted that verification from hundreds of experts across more than 80 leading teams in the AIDS field over a decade was essential to validating the clinical value of the achievement. The collaboration among government, universities, and leading scientists was instrumental in this success.
