On September 26th, experts from the Chinese Society of Automation visited Jinan University for a symposium with leaders, faculty, and students from the School of Information Science and Technology. This event facilitated in-depth discussions on subject construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and competitive programming within the fields of automation and aerospace education. Organized by the Beijing Alumni Association, this initiative aims to enhance aviation and aerospace education on campus.

The meeting began with a warm welcome from the School of Information Science and Technology, where leaders expressed their gratitude to the Beijing Alumni Association for fostering such valuable exchanges. They provided visitors with an overview of the program’s historical development, faculty expertise, discipline platforms, international collaborations, and talent development strategies.
Li Shi, Deputy Secretary General and Director of the Robot Competition and Training Department of the Chinese Society of Automation, spoke about the organization's objectives and the evolution of intelligent robot competitions. He emphasized the potential for collaboration in advancing artificial intelligence competitions through this partnership.
The symposium included extensive discussions among experts and scholars on shared interests, with a focus on the specific content of upcoming competitions. The dialogue aimed to strengthen cooperation and enhance the quality of education and research in these cutting-edge areas.
In addition to the symposium, three representatives from the Chinese Society of Automation delivered a popular science lecture on aerospace robots. Li Shi elaborated on the practical applications of robots in aerospace, making the subject accessible and engaging for students.

Jiang Meng, a senior engineer at the Beijing Institute of Control Engineering with the China Academy of Space Technology, shared insights into China’s aerospace development and technological advancements, drawing inspiration from the history of the Dongfanghong-1 satellite. Researcher Lu Xin, a leader in spacecraft attitude technology and chief expert on star sensors at the China Academy of Space Technology, explored space sensors and their relevance to professional aviation, particularly in the context of space stations.
The lecture was facilitated by Yan Hong, assistant to the president of the Beijing Alumni Association, who conveyed the best wishes of Association President Cheng Nanping and alumni for the growth of their alma mater. Yan expressed hope that these lectures would provide fresh perspectives and inspire students across various fields.
This collaboration not only enhances the academic experience for students at Jinan University but also strengthens ties between educational institutions and the professional community within the automation and aerospace sectors.
