On September 10, Jinan University held a grand celebration in its auditorium to commemorate the 40th Teacher's Day, honoring the invaluable contributions of educators in shaping the future of the institution and the nation. 

The event was attended by over 780 participants, including university leaders, members of the Undergraduate Teaching Steering Committee, middle-level administrators, commendable faculty and staff, as well as representatives from various colleges, retired and newly hired teachers, and students.

Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the critical role of teachers as the cornerstone of the university's development. He expressed deep respect and holiday greetings to the faculty and retired educators, acknowledging their dedication in meeting the national strategic needs and contributing to the progress of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 

In his speech, Lin encouraged teachers to embrace their roles as 'masters' of the school, integrating their personal development with the broader goals of the university and the country. He called on them to embody the qualities of a good teacher, imparting solid knowledge and a spirit of benevolence to students. Additionally, Lin urged educators to act as communicators of traditional Chinese culture, fostering an environment for cross-cultural exchanges and innovation.

During the event, several teachers and groups were recognized for their long-standing commitments and notable contributions to teaching, research, and community service. Insightful reflections on the joys and challenges of education were shared by award-winning faculty member Lu Xiaoyun, emeritus teacher Cao Mingrong, and newly recruited faculty representative Qiu Jing.

Themed Vigorously Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Accelerating the High-Quality Development of Schools, this year's Teacher's Day Conference featured three segments: A Hundred Years of Jinan and a Long Tradition, Erudite and Prudent Thinking and Diligence, and Keeping the Motherland in Mind and Aiming at Zhongxing. This structure not only showcased the university's achievements but also fostered an atmosphere that respects education and honors teachers.

The event aimed to galvanize faculty and staff, encouraging them to contribute energetically to fostering high-quality educational standards, ultimately supporting the construction of a strong educational foundation in the country.
