With the support of the National Key Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, Professor Chen Gang, Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for Personalized Prevention and Treatment of Brain Diseases at the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jinan University, and Director of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Joint Laboratory for Traditional Chinese Medicine Regulation of Brain Peripheral Steady State and Big Health, has published significant research titled Hippocampal PACAP Signaling Activation Triggers a Rapid Antidepressant Response in the prestigious journal Military Medical Research (MMR, latest impact factor IF=16.7). This study reveals that hippocampal PACAP signaling serves as a new target and elucidates the related mechanisms for antidepressant treatment.

The first author of this research paper is Dr. Zhang Hailou, a young faculty member from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Jinan University. The co-first author is Dr. Sun Yan from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, while Professor Chen Gang is the sole corresponding author.
