The College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Jinan University recently partnered with Lingxian Technology (Nantong) Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Tefa Information Co., Ltd. to support China Mobile in deploying the world's first 800G hollow core fiber optic transmission technology test network in Shenzhen Dongguan, Guangdong. This collaborative effort resulted in groundbreaking achievements, including unparalleled technical indicators such as minimal fusion loss and low optical fiber loss over a 20km link, establishing an international benchmark.

Professor Wang Yingying, a notable figure from the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, played a pivotal role in spearheading the collaboration by forming the Lingxian Jinan University Special Development Joint Venture. The project involved the design, drawing, and testing of hollow core fiber optic cables, showcasing the school's expertise and leadership in this cutting-edge technology.
