Xing Feng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Jinan University, conducted a research and guidance visit to the School of Mechanics and Architectural Engineering on June 3, 2024. During his visit, Xing inspected the college's experimental center, engaged in discussions with teacher representatives, and heard reports on the college's historical evolution, faculty composition, teaching and research activities, talent cultivation efforts, and platform construction.

At the symposium, young teachers shared their personal growth experiences, teaching and research accomplishments, future plans, and challenges they encountered. Xing acknowledged the achievements of the college and its faculty and offered four suggestions for the college's future development:

1. Strengthen discipline planning and integration to focus on scientific and technological innovation.

2. Enhance talent cultivation with a focus on nurturing morality and skills, particularly among young teachers.

3. Serve the overall united front pattern by leveraging the college's strengths to cultivate high-quality talents in new engineering disciplines and contribute to economic and social development.

4. Foster deep integration of industry, academia, and research by collaborating with universities in the Greater Bay Area and actively participating in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

College leaders and teachers present at the symposium expressed their commitment to advancing the school's high-quality development through a focus on their responsibilities, deep reflection, reform, innovation, and efforts to elevate their work to new heights. Xing also conducted an on-site inspection of the college's experimental center, discussing laboratory construction, equipment functionality, usage, experimental teaching outcomes, and providing guidance on future laboratory development.
