On May 30, 2024, Jinan University held its annual Outstanding Student Commendation Conference at the Shipai Campus, recognizing students who have achieved exceptional academic success in the past year. The event honored student representatives who received national, provincial, and university-level scholarships in 2023.

Over 1,300 faculty, staff, and students attended the ceremony, including representatives from the Central United Front Work Department, as well as university leadership.

In his address, Lin Rupeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University, highlighted the importance of student ideological and political education programs such as the 5A Excellent Leading Plan, the Thousand and Ten Training Projects for Outstanding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Overseas Chinese Students, and the Postgraduate Pilotage Plan. He encouraged students to embrace their patriotism, cultivate their skills, and actively contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area.

President Xing Feng also commended the awardees, emphasizing the importance of learning from role models, honing their skills through practice, and contributing to the realization of the Chinese Dream.

The event featured a thank-you video from parents of national scholarship winners, messages from past 5A Excellent Leading Plan award recipients, and speeches from faculty and students.

The conference concluded with a performance of the Jinan University School Anthem by all attendees, reinforcing the university's commitment to fostering a positive educational environment for its students.
