On the afternoon of May 24th, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the Jinan University Campus Youth Run took place at the Panyu Campus. Sun Yu, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, presided over the event and presented flags to different running teams. Officials from various school departments, campuses, and colleges, alongside members of the college youth league committee and representatives from 34 college youth running teams, partook in the ceremony.

During the launch event, Gao Tianyu, Deputy Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, briefed attendees on the campus youth run activity. The event's theme, Running with youth, has garnered significant backing from the academic community and enthusiastic responses from students. Currently, 34 youth running teams have been established across three locations and five campuses, encompassing over 3000 participants. Wu Shaohong, a student from the School of Basic Medicine and Public Health and a team representative, delivered a speech emphasizing the exercise opportunities provided by the campus youth running initiative. He pledged to embody the spirit of Jinan, maintaining a positive outlook in learning and life, and encouraged active participation in sports to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster a positive campus atmosphere.

Huang Yuqian, a member representative from the School of Management running team, highlighted that beyond physical fitness enhancement, the running teams serve as a platform for communication and teamwork development. Huang expressed confidence in the collective activities' ability to motivate participants, facilitate mutual progress, and promote healthy habits and positive attitudes to a wider audience.

The university remains committed to bolstering campus cultural development by enriching and optimizing a diverse array of high-quality cultural activities. The aim is to cultivate a dynamic and aspirational campus environment that uplifts and engages students at Jinan University.
