A delegation comprising leaders from various departments and colleges of Jinan University recently concluded a successful visit to Japan from April 16th to 20th. The delegation, including Pu Ruoxi, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Jinan University Japan Campus, Zhu Zimu, Wang Yu, Hou Xingquan, Yi Hui, and Wen Liangliang, engaged in a series of productive engagements aimed at strengthening educational ties and fostering collaboration with Japanese institutions.
The visit commenced with the attendance of the opening ceremony of Jinan University Japan Campus and the inauguration of a new campus, where discussions on the establishment and development of Jinan University Japan Campus took place. The delegation also visited Shanghai University, Waseda University, and Douliu University of Arts to explore opportunities for academic exchanges and cooperation.

On the 17th, the delegation visited the China office of Shanghai University of Science and Technology to exchange insights on Sino-Japanese educational exchanges and international cooperation. Subsequently, fruitful discussions were held at Waseda University with Professor Reiji Miyazaki, focusing on Japanese language education and the development of Japanese language majors.
Further engagements took place on the 18th at the Metropolitan University of Arts in Yamanashi Prefecture, where discussions with Vice President Akihiro Sato and Director Keimei Kato centered on educational history and collaboration prospects between the institutions.
The highlight of the visit was the grand opening ceremony of Jinan University Japan Campus in Tokyo on the 19th, attended by esteemed guests including Ambassador Du Kewei, President Wang Jiaxun, and representatives from academia and industry. The delegation also participated in the inauguration of the new campus of the Nippon Institute, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

During a special discussion on the construction of the Japanese Academy, key stakeholders deliberated on enrollment policies, international education models, student exchanges, teacher training, and academic management. Pu Ruoxi expressed gratitude for the support received and outlined future development plans.
The delegation also engaged with Chinese entrepreneurs in Japan, fostering partnerships and exploring avenues for collaboration in education and research.
This visit marks a significant milestone in enhancing international exchanges, fostering educational cooperation, and strengthening external relations. Jinan University is committed to sustaining these achievements and furthering collaboration with Japanese universities and institutions in the future.
