In a significant leadership reshuffle, Xing Feng has been appointed as the President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of JNU, replacing Song Xianzhong, who has been removed from his position. This announcement was made during the appointment and dismissal meeting held on January 22nd, presided over by Chen Xu, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee and Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.

The meeting, attended by officials from the Cadre Bureau of the Central United Front Work Department, the Organization Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the Education Working Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, as well as all school leaders and veteran leaders, marked a significant transition in the university's leadership team.

Song Xianzhong, reflecting on his 31 years of service at JNU, expressed his dedication to the party and the institution, highlighting the progress and development witnessed during his tenure. He expressed confidence in Xing Feng's ability to bring greater vitality and momentum to the university's development and pledged to continue supporting the institution's reform and development.
Additionally, Rao Min, who was removed from his position as Standing Committee Member and Deputy President of the Party Committee of JNU, reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the high-quality development of the university in the future.
In response to his appointment, Xing Feng expressed his unwavering support for the organization's decision and emphasized the significant responsibility and glorious mission associated with his new role. He outlined his commitment to upholding the political nature of the Party, uniting efforts to promote the high-quality development of the university, and maintaining a strategic determination to continue striving.
Xing Feng's extensive experience in higher education and management, coupled with his strong political quality, dedication, and influence in the industry, positions him well to lead JNU in its continued pursuit of academic excellence and institutional development. His recent election as an academician of the CAE Member in November 2023 further underscores his esteemed standing in the academic community.
