The China International College Student Innovation Competition (2023) witnessed a remarkable display of talent and innovation, with JNU emerging as a standout performer. Hosted by the Ministry of Education and 12 other departments in collaboration with the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, the prestigious event took place at Tianjin University from December 3rd to 6th, 2023.
JNU showcased its prowess with a total of 9 projects making it to the finals, out of which 5 projects advanced to the on-site competition stage. Following intense competition, the university clinched one gold award, four silver awards, and four bronze awards, establishing a new record for the institution in terms of accolades received.
The gold medal was secured by the groundbreaking project titled Salary Transmission Time: Empowering Social Governance Innovation through Digital Public Welfare Communication, developed by the School of Journalism and Communication. This triumph not only marked a significant achievement in the national competition but also propelled the project to the championship and runner-up rounds in the provincial competition, where it secured the runner-up position, further enhancing the university's standing.
Over 5,000 schools from 151 countries and regions worldwide participated in this year's competition, with a staggering 4.21 million projects and 17.09 million participants registering for the event. Among the 1260 outstanding projects that competed on-site at Tianjin University, JNU made a notable impact with 1966 projects and 8547 participants, reaching unprecedented levels of participation.
The competition's scale and influence continued to expand, with 21 gold medals awarded at the school level and 24 projects recommended for the provincial competition. Ultimately, JNU's exceptional performance resulted in 22 projects clinching victory, underscoring the institution's commitment to fostering innovation and excellence among its students.
