I am very interested in China's intangible cultural heritage of China, and participating in this training is a great opportunity for me, said Zhang Minying from Macao, one of the students in the 2023 Youth Creative Design Training Program (Creation 100) in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which started on Nov. 3.

Creation 100 is planned and hosted by JNU's Institute of Cultural Heritage and Creative Industry. Since it was established in 2020, it has trained more than 60 young creative design talents, about half of them from Hong Kong and Macao. After rigorous selection, 20 applicants from Hong Kong, Macao, Xiamen, Jingdezhen and other places stood out this year, becoming the students in the fourth Creation 100.

The current Creation 100 has invited renowned scholars to give onsite lectures on such topics as cultural communication and design management; urban art and creativity; and design and technology. It adopts flexible and diverse teaching methods, including field trips, interactive classrooms, guest lectures, project planning and group workshops.

Chen Ping, director of the institute, said that with guidance and lectures from mentors in various fields and disciplines, the program aims to inspire students to develop creatively and transform their ideas, integrating Chinese culture into future creative designs. The goal is to design fashionable Chinese products that will serve as carriers of China's stories.
