Papers produced through the cooperation of the team led by Prof. Liu Zitao of the Guangdong Institute of Smart Education and Michigan State University and North Carolina State University in the United States have been accepted by top international conferences, with the institute as corresponding author.

(ICML 2023)

The International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), a class A international academic conference recommended by China Computer Federation (CCF), accepted the institute's paper Probabilistic Categorical Adversarial Attack and Adversarial Training in April. As a top annual international conference on machine learning hosted by the International Machine Learning Society (IMLS), ICML is the major platform for discussing cutting-edge sci-tech achievements and their practical application. The 2023 conference, to be held in Hawaii from July 23 to 29, will be the 40th. 

This year ICML received 6,538 submissions and accepted 1,827, an acceptance rate of about 27.9%. Last year it received 5,630 submissions and accepted 1,117 short oral and 118 long oral presentations, an acceptance rate of 21.94%. ICML said each paper would be reviewed by chairmen and senior chairmen in the field.

In May the Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), a class A international academic conference recommended by China Computer Federation (CCF), accepted the institute's paper titled How Does the Memorization of Neutral Networks Impact Adversarial Robust Models? KDD is a top annual  international conference on data mining hosted by the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. The 2023 conference, to be held in Long Beach, Calif., from Aug. 6 to 10, will be the 29th.

 Last year, the KDD 2022 research track received 1,696 submissions and accepted 254, or14.9%. The KDD 2022 applied data science track received 753 submissions and accepted 195. The overall acceptance rate was 18.3% (2,448 submissions, 449 acceptances).
