Wang Zhuli, a distinguished professor at Shanxi Normal University's School of Education Science, lectured at JNU on May 25 on ChatGPT and Education Transformation: How to Transform Education in the Era of Intelligence. Wang, a former scholar of education technology and expert in innovative education at Sun Yat-sen University, focused on such questions as What does the emergence of generative AI like ChatGPT mean? What new challenges does education face in the age of intelligence?”and How to transform education in the era of intelligence? He said he believed ChatGPT was the equivalent of an expert with encyclopedias in his brain who had surpassed all other human beings in conventional thinking ability yet failed to reach and surmount the highest level of human ability in innovative thinking. He pointed out that the emergence of ChatGPT forced JNU's students and professors to think about the challenges artificial intelligence brings to education theory, systems and practice in every aspect.

In an idea exchange session, Wang put forward his own opinions about how ChatGPT can be used for teaching, how to use it to realize the transition from learning fragmented knowledge to the reconstruction of the thinking framework on solutions to problems across disciplines, and how to monitor students' use of it. He proposed a solution: the learning style of collecting fragments of knowledge while clustering them for reconstruction in the era of intelligence.
