The finals of the Chinese Poetry Competition, an activity of the Praising China with Poetry: Inheriting Classics, series of activities of the JNU Chinese Culture Knowledge Competition, were held on May 26. This year's competition for students from JNU's five campuses lasted nearly two months. Nearly 10,000 JNU students learned about Chinese poetry culture in activities including daily poetry quizzes, poetry culture promotion and poetry competition.

The finals included Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students, as well as ethnic Chinese, and international students, with 42 teams and more than 3,000 participants.

The Yun Xiao Yu Ji team from Sihai College won first place and the popularity award in the competition. The Soaring Up team from the School of Mechanics and Construction Engineering won second place, the Feng Hua Xue Yue team from the College of Information Science and Technology/College of Cyber Security third place, and the Yishui Xiange and Qingfeng Xulai teams from Sihai College fourth and fifth places, respectively. The School of Mechanics and Construction Engineering and the College of Information Science and Technology/College of Cyber Security won the excellent organization award, and Sihai College won the best contribution award.

Participants, performers and behind-the-scenes workers were students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and overseas Chinese students, who presented a poetry learning activity for JNU teachers and students.

Since 2012, JNU has held the competition for 12 years consecutively, attracting a total of 60,000 participants from JNU's five campuses. Nearly 300 activities have attracted Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students from more than 100 countries and regions to participate extensively, setting off a boom in traditional Chinese culture learning on campuses.
