A symposium on education in virtual simulation experimental economics and management was held at JNU online and off on April 27. It was sponsored by the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Economics and Management Education and organized by JNU's International Business School to promote reform and innovation of experimental education and generate high-level achievements.
More than 50 school leaders and teachers attended, including JNU Vice President Weng Jian; Zhou Yuyu, vice director of the Office of Laboratory and Equipment Management; Ou Jinwen, director of the Demonstration Center and vice dean of JNU's School of Management; and Fang Junbin, vice director of the Zhuhai campus Management Committee. Experts from the center’s teaching committee were also invited to give keynote reports.
Wu Jing, dean of the International Business School and the symposium’s chair, said its purpose was to strengthen reform and innovation in applying new technology in experimental education. The goal is to build a first-class virtual simulation laboratory of economics and management to better optimize discipline distribution and the construction of first-class undergraduate major construction sites, she said.
Weng said JNU had actively explored the application and innovation of virtual simulation technology in experimental education in recent years and achieved a series of high-level results in teaching reform. He said he hoped to strengthen reform of the intelligent learning system and innovation of virtual simulation experimental education at the center, along with the important strategic deployment of constructing a new digital system of higher education with Chinese characteristics proposed by the Ministry of Education.
Ou reviewed the Demonstration Center's construction process, noting that it was jointly built by six JNU colleges on different campuses in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. He said the center had explored a mode of experimental education management and operation featuring shared resources and complementary advantages, empowering high-level talents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
After the opening ceremony, Ou presided over keynote reports.
The symposium presented a wide range of views and a lively discussion closely related to the latest national policies and current affairs. In the future, the International Business School's Experimental Education Center will strive to participate in the construction of the National Demonstration Center for Experimental Economics and Management Education, and to achieve rich and high-level construction results.
