The ninth Representative Assembly of Staff and Faculty and the third session of the 13th Representative Assembly of Trade Union Members were held in the JNU auditorium on April 8 and 9. More than 300 people attended, including Party Secretary Lin Rupeng, President Song Xianzhong, Vice Presidents Rao Min and Zhang Hong, Deputy Party Secretaries Xia Quan and Sun Yu, leaders of the JNU Trade Union, formal representatives, specially invited representatives and non-voting representatives of the two assemblies.

Lin pointed out that the Trade Union, actively working around the school teaching and scientific research center, had made positive contributions to school reform, development and stability. He said he hoped that, on the basis of carefully listening to and deliberating the assembly reports, all the representatives could give full play to their rights and obligations to contribute wisdom to school development with a high sense of responsibility and mission.

In the Report on the Work of the President, Song reviewed JNU's progress and achievements in 2022 from eight aspects: personnel training; double first-class and high-level university development; teaching staff construction; improvement of scientific research and innovation levels; serving national strategies; deepening international exchanges and cooperation; speeding up infrastructure construction; and improving the system and mechanism for operating schools. He also delivered work tasks and pointed out what to focus on in 2023. 

Rao, chairman of the Trade Union, summarized its work in 2022 from four aspects: promoting democracy construction in schools; carrying out Two Projects, for cohesion and warmth; boosting the construction of the teaching staff and campus culture; and reporting on the work plan of the Trade Union in 2023.

Zhu Tao, director of the Finance Department, gave the Financial Work Report of Jinan University. Gu Naihua, director of the Development and Planning Department, reported on Implementation Progress of Jinan University's 14th Five-Year Plan. Huang Yulong, executive deputy director of the Infrastructure Construction Office, reported on Construction of Panyu Campus and Zhuhai Campus of Jinan University. Delegations discussed the reports and made constructive suggestions.

At the closing ceremony, speakers from 16 delegations shared opinions and suggestions on teaching, scientific research, medical care, management and logistics support.

The assembly also commended and presented awards to advanced organizations in Trade Union work, advanced units and individuals in handling proposals in 2022.
