Seven teams competed in the first phase of the 17th Winning in Innovation competition, which was held at JNU on March 30, sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and organized by the College of Science and Engineering.
The project Nanodiamond-Based Optical-Fiber Quantum Probe for Magnetic Field and Biological Sensing by Li Yuxin's team from the College of Science and Engineering won both the Best Project Award and the Most Popular Award. The project proposes a nanodiamond NV-based optic-fiber quantum probe to address the limited accuracy, poor durability, and low level of integration of traditional magnetic field and biosensors, achieving high-sensitivity sensing.

New Lithium Niobate Optical Switch-Linking the New Era of Data, a project by Liu Changrui's team from the College of Science and Engineering, which focused on the massive data generated by industrial internet and intelligent manufacturing, won an Excellent Project Award.
Liu Tianyue's team from the College of Information Science and Technology won an Excellent Project Award. It has built a depth-aware integrated drug development platform using targeted search and multi-target drug discovery technology to address the problems of high time consumption and high investment in traditional drug development, providing a search engine for drug development. The team has applied for an invention patent and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the academician team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Ji Yuxuan's team from the International School won an Excellent Project Award for its project exploring prevention and control of pathogenic bacteria in pet food by using bacteriophage.
After the competition, Liu Pengyi, associate dean of the College of Science and Engineering, and Sun Jianli, deputy director of the Office of Academic Affairs, awarded the certificates to the winning teams. During the competition, the contestants showed their imagination and talents in presentation, communication and competition.
