JNU held an expedition ceremony on Nov. 19 for the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University's medical team to support the Nansha mobile cabin hospital. Two hundred medical workers were sent as a whole system to carry out medical treatment and nursing for COVID-19 patients.

JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng paid his respects to all the medical team members, urging everyone to build a strong line of defense to fight the pandemic as their mission and responsibility, and to contribute to the prevention and control of the epidemic on behalf of the JNU medical team.

President Song Xianzhong thanked the medical team for its contribution to pandemic prevention and control. He told the team members they should all protect themselves while treating patients, give full play to their medical skills and treat patients with great medical ethics.

The First Affiliated Hospital has set up a number of medical teams to work at the forefront of the pandemic. More than 6,000 people supported polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing in various districts of Guangzhou, taking more than 7 million samples. Forty medical staff members supported Guangzhou Eighth People’s Hospital, and 7 supported quarantine hotels and special transportation groups. Three inspection doctors supported PCR testing at Pazhou Mobile Laboratory, and 1 medical staff member supported the treatment work of emergency and severe cases in Xinjiang. Two hundred workers in four groups went deep into Haizhu District and Liwan District to fight the pandemic with residents, taking charge of PCR testing and other tasks.
