Jinan University held the donation ceremony of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund for Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Students on July 9. JNU has received donation of 5 million yuan from Hetu Education Technology Co., Ltd., to establish the fund, which aims to strengthen education in creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship and advance talent cultivation.

JNU Vice President Hong An said the WE Innovation Space for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students was rated as the Makerspace for National Record after review by the Ministry of Science and Technology – an important step in the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship. Going forward, he said, JNU, together with Hetu, will deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, creating more opportunities for young people to develop in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Hetu Chairman Liu Feng said creative and innovative talents are conducive to the development of the times. 

He Qingwen, president of JNU’s School of Entrepreneurship, said the school would make full use of the fund and the advantages of innovation resources and talent resources to provide high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship services, and to cultivate more excellent scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship youth teams, as well as excellent young talents for innovation and entrepreneurship.
