JNU Prof. Yin Lianghong, deputy dean of the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU, and Meng Yu, deputy dean of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital, were honored as Guangzhou's and Heyuan's Most Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker of 2022, respectively, by the Guangzhou and Heyuan Association for Science and Technology.

Yin's team has developed a domestic blood dialysis machine, breaking the longstanding monopoly of imported hemodialysis machines and causing their prices to drop. The team also independently developed a dialyzer production line to fill the gap in China and earn foreign exchange through export. Listed as the 225 key research project of the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the project was supported by more than 30 grants, including those from the Ministry of Education's Foundation for Young Teachers, the National Natural Science Foundation’s Special Fund for Basic Research on Scientific Instruments and the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China; it has been granted 26 related patents. Innovation, iteration, and powerful nation is Yin's core belief.

Meng has devoted herself to clinical work in nephrology for 15 years and has rich research and innovation experience. Her research on metabolic nephropathy including diabetes, obesity-related nephropathy, and renal and urinary tract stone disease is at the leading level internationally.
