A team of teachers led by Liu Peng of the physics department in JNU's College of Science and Engineering, won first prize in the finals of Guangdong Division of the second National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers, guided by the Guangdong Department of Education and sponsored by Guangdong Institute of Higher Education and Shenzhen University. The team, consisting of Liu Peng, Liu Hui, Liu Pengyi and Mai Wenjie, now enter the national finals.

Since the contest was launched at the end of 2021, a total of 1,382 teams from 65 general undergraduate universities in Guangdong had participated in campus-level competitions. Through the selection and qualification review by the Organizing Committee Office and experts, 107 teams from 40 universities were shortlisted for the provincial competition. After two days of competition, 18 teams won first and special prizes. They will represent Guangdong in the national finals.
