A team led by Prof. YangGuang of the Department of Pathogen Biology in JNU's School of Medicine and Prof. Zeng Yongping of the School of Environment, published a research paper titled “Exposure to Polystyrene microplastics reduces regeneration and growth in planarians” in the Journal of Hazardous Materials (IF=10.588) on March 15.

The first authors are Gao Tianyu, a Master of Public Health candidate in the School of Medicine mentored by Yang; Sun Bingbing, a postdoctoral researcher of the School of Environment mentored by Zeng; and Xu Zhenbiao, an associate professor at Shandong University of Technology. Zeng and Yang are the corresponding authors.

The research was supported by the National Key Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
