JNU Vice President Zhang Ronghua and Ma Jie, secretary of the School of Physical Education's general Party branch, and other university leaders paid a visit on Feb. 15 to athletes and coaches who stayed on campus for vacation and returned early for training. During their visits to the track-and-field ground, basketball court, volleyball court and gymnasium, they encouraged JNU athletes to better prepare for the 11th University Games of Guangdong Province in a good frame of mind.

In 2021, Zhang said, JNU athletes including Su Bingtian, Chen Aisen and Xie Sichang made splendid achievements in the Olympics and the National Games, bringing great honor to JNU. Daily training and hard work were indispensable to these achievements, he said, demonstrating JNU spirit and the principle of cultivating people through sports -- a principle consistent with JNU's vision of building JNU into a university with first-class scholarship and excellent sports education.

Thirteen sports team, 20 coaches and 177 athletes are now training for the University Games.
